Endovenous Laser Therapy McAllen
Before & After
Endovenous Laser Therapy, simply known as EVLT™, is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat unsightly varicose veins that has replaced the painful, lengthy saphenous vein ligation and stripping surgery of the past. EVLT treats saphenous vein reflux, which is the most important factor underlying varicose vein disease. EVLT is fast, safe, and effective and allows patients to proudly show off their beautiful legs again, as well as improve their overall quality of life. This simple procedure is performed in our office under local anesthesia and takes less than an hour.
EVLT offers patients a less invasive alternative to vein ligation and stripping with the same effectiveness and many more advantages.
Some of the benefits of the EVLT procedure include:
- Takes less than an hour to perform
- Performed as an outpatient procedure in the doctor’s office
- Offers immediate relief from symptoms
- No downtime
- No need for general anesthesia
- Little to no scarring
- Up to a 98% success rate
A small laser fiber is inserted, usually through a needle stick in the skin, into the damaged vein under ultrasound guidance. Pulses of laser light are delivered inside the vein, which causes the vein to collapse and seal shut. The procedure is done in-office under local anesthesia. Your leg will be wrapped for one day, and you are encouraged to take a 30 minute walk the night after the procedure.
