Complex Extended Lower Abdominoplasty with a Floating Navel Technique
This 39 year-old woman from the Mission, Texas area presented to my cosmetic plastic surgery clinic requesting redo liposuction to her abdomen. She is 5’7” tall and weighed 155 pounds. She had previously undergone liposuction to her abdomen in Mexico several years prior and was unhappy with the residual contour defects. We discussed that she was not a candidate for redo liposuction. In order to achieve her goals and correct the pre-existing contour defects from the prior liposuction, repair her umbilical hernia, plicate her diastasis recti, and revise her c-section scar we performed a complex, extended lower abdominoplasty with a floating navel technique. As part of this procedure, her lap-band port was also repositioned to a more cosmetic position. We also performed VASER liposuction throughout her abdomen and waist. Two distinct advantages of this complex procedure are a short scar that essentially replaces her pre-existing c-section scar and no belly-button scar! Her new body is shown at 2 months, and she loves her cosmetic surgery results!
